Google Calendar Week of April 13th-17th

This week went good for me, slower pace than usual, but it was mostly just trying to get back into the groove of things.
Yes.
I did an individual career pathway and began concepting for an animation of a song from the Broadway musical, Waitress, in order to practice movement and character expression – which I couldn’t get heavily into with my BPA piece. I created a moodboard w/ sketches of both characters as a reference point, and finished the first of my rough storyboards.
I did struggle getting used to translating things visually that had a lot more complex movement than I usually do, so I had to rethink the same one second scene twenty times and replay the song way too much to get it down, but it was really my only issue and if anything it was a learning experience.
I will continue to work on the storyboarding, maybe this time I can get to do the first roughing out of it in Animate.

It went a lot better than I honestly expected, despite the rough adjustments. I managed to create a decent amount, which ended up being a tiny bit more than I really thought I could.
Yes, I have access to generally all the same materials as in lab for what I’m mainly interested in.
I worked on days 1-3 of the Adobe Animate lessons. Day 2’s lessons were split into two days because of how much time it took.

My main issue was adjusting to Adobe Animate updates, as exporting animations as MP4s is completely different and unnecessarily complicated now. I was able to find a way to do it on Day 1, however, by exporting it as a H.264 video into Adobe Media Encoder where I would drag the encoded file into Google Drive. Also, personally, I know the accounts are linked to DACC’s school system or something (I think?), but I did feel uncomfortable on the Teams app because of my legal name. I know it’s not something that can exactly change, but, aside from that, the rest of the week worked out really well.
I will mostly aim to finish Adobe Animate lessons (days 4-7), and outside of that I’m probably going to start working on some animation passion projects if I have extra time on my hands.
Today I finished the animation tutorial for the 2D character. Link to Google drive file below — again, email me if it doesn’t work correctly.

I followed the first half of the tutorial, setting up the document and recreating the character and background using the same tools and tips the tutorial taught. Recreated both of them rather than using the stock photos from the Adobe library because I wasn’t completely sure on how to import them.

I have no clue if this form of exporting works at all, email me if it doesn’t.

I’ll be doing the Animate assignments.
